WELCOME TO ROJI

Husband and wife chef team, Tamas and Tomoko, host up to 10 guests at an intimate wood counter in Mayfair. Using super seasonal British produce, they create a unique menu that celebrates the fish, vegetables, fruit and meat produced by a handful of small passionate farmers.

The food is based on Japanese principles of cooking; grilling, simmering, steaming, frying and cutting. The omakase-style menus include a sushi course and can be paired with a hand-picked selection of sake and wine.

Dinner is served at 6pm and 8.30pm and must be pre-paid on reservation. Presently there is no lunch service.

BOOKING

Sittings are at 6pm or 8.30pm.

We will ask you to pre-pay for your meal. The pre-payment covers the food, but not your drinks, extra sushi pieces or service charge, you will need to settle for these when you dine (unless you have pre-booked a pairing drinks course, which will also be paid for in advance).

Cancellations

All bookings are refundable up to 72 hours before you dine, a booking fee of 3% is NON-REFUNDABLE on all cancelled bookings.

We understand that emergencies and unexpected situations can occur. If you are unable to make your booking with less than the required notice please get in touch to discuss with the team. We will do our best to offer your space to guests on the waiting list. If we are successful we will happily refund your pre-payment (minus the booking fee) or move your booking to a future date at no cost, but unfortunately we cannot guarantee we will be able to do this.

We don’t cater for food allergies, intolerances and dietary requirements as a rule, so please get in touch with us before you book with any queries and we will try our best to help.

PLEASE ARRIVE PROMPTLY.

All courses are served at the same time to all guests. Late arrival will delay the meal so we may start without you, which will diminish your experience. Please make sure you know how to get to us before the day of your booking. If you are not sure please get in touch and we’ll happily give instructions on how to find us. If you are late please get in touch to let us know. If you are very late we may refuse service and will not be able to refund your prepayment.

We look forward to welcoming you to Roji.

CERAMICS

Ceramics play an important role in Japanese cuisine. As food and ingredients flow with the seasons, so do the plates, dishes and bowls. The glazes and patterns must complement the enhance the food being served, in many cases the crockery is handmade and has great value.

We have taken great care to select table wear from artisanal and small producers in Japan and the UK. Each of our plates
has a story to tell, so please ask if you’d like to know more. Tamas and Tomoko have also made a selection of the plates themselves to create a true connection with the food they are serving. Please take a moment to appreciate the vessels and dishes the food is being served on, evoking the seasons and showing the maximum respect to the ingredients being used.
